cmarobs pride & joy
ZR750C1 1991 ZEPHYR
Who said it never saw the rain
new tank spray job
ready for 2006
wonder what daddy will say if i scratch his paintwork
this is a 1991 zr750 c1 originally red as per wedding photo on home page this is the same bike only the previous owner dropped it on the way back from the church service
We carted it back to my garage where it was left untouched for 18 months the owner then asked if i wanted to buy it and asked me to make an offer i offered £1200 as this is what it was worth at the time according to MCN
He then told me it was a write off according to his insurance company and he had bought it back off them for £300 i gave him £300 there and then
18 months and just over £3500 later we see the above bike new forks all bushes and bearings replaced new tyres new petrol tank s/steel exhaust and caliper pistons no expense spared wife went ape when she found out how much i spent the rear shocks blew a seal after 6 months so were replaced with Hagons and the rear swinging arm bushes packed up in mid june this year so have been replaced the arm was also stripped of the gold hammerite so looks more original now
This is still an ongoing project and will continue to be for some time yet mrs H will not let me sell it niether do i want to i enjoy her too much
the end result of a minor off at work due to oil on the road all rebuild bits were in my parts box so didnt cost that much to fix
this new screen was sold to me by Greaseball a zephyr mate from wolverhampton every one said it looked naff on his bike even he had to admit it looks better on mine cheers mate
